1/16….
Welcome!!
The Story
In December of 2018, at only 37 years old, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer.
I was 2 weeks away from my 38th birthday, 4 months away from my husband and I celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and we had two little boys at home - an amazing 4 year old and a 7 month old little baby.
Yep, I was just 7 months post partum.
From that very first day that I felt my lumps myself, I began to use writing as my outlet. I always loved to write and decided to use it to my advantage. Being a woman under 40 and a mom of two very young children, I was looking for books and resources to help navigate this crazy time in my life, while still being present for my children. That was challenging, as I came upon resources for older women in their 60's and books written by younger women in their 20's or early 30's but nothing for women with young children at home. So, I created a blog at
which was and continues to be the story of my journey.
I wanted to not only use my blogging as an outlet, I wanted to document my experiences to look back on for when I needed some inspiration, I wanted to have something that my children could read so they could really know how I fought for them and I wanted to be able to use my experiences to help others.
With 16 rounds of chemotherapy, multiple surgeries including a double mastectomy, 28 rounds of radiation, medications, side effects, and life long ailments, here I am 4 years after diagnosis and can say I am 3 years No Evidence of Disease!!
But, I'm still fighting every single day, as breast cancer has a huge impact on a person as a whole... mentally, physically and emotionally. So I decided to continue my blog again not only as an outlet, but in hopes of helping others who might be feeling the same way. Breast cancer is no easy feat, even when the treatments are over. I would love for others out there who have been fortunate enough to NOT have to experience anything cancer or breast cancer related to know, that once our active treatments are over doesn't mean that our journeys are.
So with all of that said, I bring to you Michele's World..... my thoughts, my perspectives, my visions, my likes and sometimes my dislikes too, from my world to yours!
And I always love meeting other thrivers and survivors too, so feel free to reach out and let's connect!!
